Amazon.com - Ordered 09/27/1999 - Shipped 10/12/1999 - Received 10/25/1999 The Rink opened on February 9th, 1984 at The Martin Back Theatre, New York. This recording was recorded at RCA Studios on May 6th 1984. Director: A. J. Antoon, Musical Director: Paul Gemignani. The booklet contains, as background for the cast and the songs list, two big and two medium color pictures of the show. No text at all!! I listened at this recording while in the boat for going to Corse (a wonderful island in the south of France) and I must admit that there are some gems in this recording, and in this show in general. Thanks to the boat, I've been able to listen at it more carefully than I could listen at the London cast. Blue Crystal is fantastic, but also Colored Lights, Don't Ah Ma Me, The Apple Doesn't Fall for instance. The vocal performances are very good and correspond to the atmosphere and the roles, which is typically Kander/Ebb like. In my opinion a very good recording of this show and a good recording overall. What lack are liner notes.
