What is this?
Here I do present my own
Musical and related music CD collection, with lots informations
about the album (cast, track numbers, and so on), mainly because I had trouble
to find these informations when looking myself for cast recordings. I also
provide easy links to buy them in several online CD shops.
The different pages:
- "NEWS" for the new items in the recordings list
- "SHOWS" for the listing of all the shows
- "ACTORS" for all the actors, the shows they play in and the
roles they have in these shows
- "AUTHORS" with the Musical authors and the shows they
participated in, and what they actually did (Book, Lyrics, Music).
- "SONGS" where I list all the songs of my musical CDs, and
the shows they come from.
- "LABELS" where the labels are listed
with all the recording I have from each and links to the labels homepage
- "SEARCH" which allows you to search a CD in the online
CD stores I usually order at.
- "HELP" which you are reading.
- For each recording, a page where I list the tracks
titles, performers and duration, say what kind of information is
included in the CD box, the cast actors and their roles. I also
provide links on the World Wide Web if I found some, and links to the
lyrics if they exist somewhere. When I have something to say about a
musical, it's also written.
Buying CDs:
I try to provide links to the albums to
when possible (I used to provide links to other
shops but they disappeared one by one).

Comments:
I'm very happy if you have come to read this page to the end. This
site is somehow a little baby of mine, first designed to help myself
to keep track of my cd collection, then supporting some sort of
advanced features as listing the actors/songs of all my cast
recordings. Unfortunately, these lists have become very big, and I
hope I soon will have time enough to split them (for technicians,
these pages are generated by an AWK script) into more numerous but
smaller pages (as I write these lines, the actors.html file is more
than 740Ko, which is unbearable), but I need some time for
that... unless one praises me to do it faster (it loads fast enough
for me locally on my machine).
This site will soon be one year old. I hope being able to enhance it
for that birthday. In nearly one year, my collection has grown from
three CDs to *today* potentially 177. I've decided to buy every Jay
album as a support for the quality of the recordings they make and the
valuable involvement of John Yap in the CASTRECL mailing
list.
I don't exactly know what informations cast recording buyers could
require from CDs, so I don't plan to add more informations, but if you
feel that, for example, talking of the opening dates of the shows, the
number of performances is important, I possibly could add them. As for
the music, I never give lots of informations (I'm interested in
performers) but I could make an effort if I was asked to (adding the
author of the orchestrations for example).
Many thanks for your visit!
