CD Now - Ordered 02/10/99 - Shipped 02/12/99 - Received 02/20/99 Recorded on December 15, 1992 in BMG Studio C, New York City. The booklet contains 2 big, 3 medium and 2 small color pictures of the show, a 10 pages text containing a very complete synopsis (7 pages) from Arthur Kopit (author of the Book) and a history of the writing of the show, and how it is different from Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera. This is a recording that I have troubles to listen at with a really open mind. I'm too much accustomed to ALW's work to hear at another version of the Phantom without making this other recording face a difficult challenge: being at least as good as ALW's one. One should know that ALW's Phantom was my second or third cast recording and that I have all its lyrics and musics in my mind. On the other hand, I decided to get this one because I had listened at Nine from the same authors and found it terrific. I absolutely wanted to hear something else from Maury Yeston (that's why I also bought Titanic, the Musical). I think that, as Nine, this recording will require a few listenings before I can understand it better.
