Description / My Opinion
Amazon.com - Ordered 02/02/99 - Shipped 02/06/99 - Received 02/12/99

One Touch Of Venus (Weill/Nash) opened October 7, 1943 at the Imperial Theater, New York City, and ran for 567 performances.

Lute Song (Scott/Hanighen) Opened February 6, 1943 at the Plymouth Theater, New York City, and ran for 142 performances.

The booklet contains lots of text about the shows, Mary Martin, with a good number of pictures and drawings (about 6 pictures and 5 drawings).

This recording (or these recordings, as you like) sounds very old and it is. I appreciate it as a historical addition to my collection but I probably won't listen at it often. In my opinion it's not the best of Weill's music, but on the other hand I find Scott's Lute Song score fantastic, I would say very inspirated.
