Amazon.com - Ordered 04.28.2000 - Shipped 02.06.2000 - Received. Follies opened at the Winter Garden Theatre, New York, on April 4, 1971, and ran for 521 performances. It was originally recorded on April 11, 1971. The booklet contains 10 pages of text by Marc Kirkeby, including a nearly 5 pages synopsis. There are 4 medium B&W and one big (booklet back cover) pictures of the show. This show is very important in musicals history as it is in the carreer of Stephen Sondheim. There's nearly no broadway songs compilation that does not contain at least one song from it. This recording is said to be truncated and not being true to the original show. But it is still a good recording, very well performed and that contains most of the now-standard songs as Broadway Baby. And it's full of emotion (which is one of the main ingredients of that show).
