Amazon.com - Ordered 12/02/98 - Shipped 12/07/98 - Received 12/29/98 Additional lyrics by George C. Wolfe and Ann Duquesnay The booklet contains a note from George C. Wolfe, the producer, about how he was lead to produce this show, and how he did it. There are also a few nice B&W photos. This is a very original musical, which must have been wonderful to see. The cast recording is already very powerful. When I read that it was something about taps, I thought I would be bored (I'm not especially fond of taps), but at first listening, I completely changed my mind. Yes, there are taps, but in the cast recording, they can be considered as percussions, and not the least. They bring an incredible feeling of living rage to most of the songs. When I try to imagine the men doing this sound, I'm filled with shivers. That's pure physical joy.
