Berkshire - Ordered 03/09/99 - Received 03/19/99 Orchestrations: Ted Royal, Vocal Arrangements Trude Rittman Ambrosian Chorus Chorus Master: John McCarthy The booklet contains 1 big B&W picture of Frederick Loewe and Alan Jay Lerner, one big and three medium B&W pictures of the original production at the Ziegfeld Theatre(1947) (with actors names), seven B&W ID pictures of the main performers. There are 5 pages of text (small font) from Miles Kreuger, two pages of an interview of Robert Lewis (Director of the original production), by Miles Kreuger. Miles Kreuger also wrote the three pages synopsis. There are Deutch and French translations of this synopsis, and then comes the libretto. I think that this recording is wonderful. It's much more an operetta than a musical as they are done nowadays. I love the music. It's something magical and I've been trying for long to find details on why I love it, but I actually can't. It's out of my reach, still I know this score has something very few can afford: a soul. The performers are also perfect, so I've not much to say about them. The story is also one of these awaken-dreams that haunt every people's fantasies. One of my prefered recordings so far.
