Amazon.com - Ordered 09/27/1999 - Shipped 10/12/1999 - Received 10/25/1999 Baby opened on December 4, 1983 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre, New York. Orchestrations: Jonathan Tunick, Music Direction: Peter Howard, Director: Richard Maltby,Jr. The booklet contains a page and a quarter (in very small caracters) synopsis, one big and two medium color pictures of the show, and 4 small B&W pictures of the show. It also contains a list of the orchestra members. Well, I'm not very fond of this recording. It starts well, goes to Baby Baby Baby and then starts losing interest. Performances are nice (the cast is rather good), but I just don't find the recording interesting. It's possible that Baby is a nice theatre show though. It's also possible that the music style is for something, a somehow seventies eighties music, with copper wind instruments (trumpet) and drums as in that period's TV Series. I've tried hard to appreciate this recording, because I was in the boat to Corse when listening at it, and I've listened at it at least a dozen of times, and I still can't make it a good recommendation for someone who would have the same tastes as mine.
